Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a recent incident in Tambaram, Chennai, four women police personnel have been suspended after engaging in an argument with a snacks vendor over unpaid tea and food bills.
The decision to suspend the cops, including Inspector Vijayalakshmi from Kuduvanchery All Women Police Station, was made by Police Commissioner A Amalraj following a complaint filed by the tea shop owner in Patappai.
According to the vendor, the police officers consumed tea and snacks at his shop but refused to pay the bill. When the vendor requested payment, the cops allegedly resorted to threatening him with the filing of a false case.
The suspension serves as a disciplinary action against the involved personnel, pending further inquiry into the matter.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident to gather more information and determine the appropriate course of action.
